Corporate Identity - Colour Scheme

Marketing doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Whether you’re creating a brand for your business or for personal use, the best place to start is with the basics.

When I take on a new client – whether it’s an established business or a brand-new venture – I begin with their corporate identity.

This includes the logo, brand fonts and colour schemes. These elements form the foundation for everything else: social media graphics, print designs and overall brand presence.

To keep things simple and effective, I always recommend focusing on two key points:

  1. Make it personal. As the business owner, your brand identity should resonate with you. After all, you are your business. If the colours and style don’t feel authentic, it will be harder to connect with your audience.

  2. Understand colour theory. Every colour carries meaning and emotion. Choosing wisely can help you communicate the right message.

If you’re looking for inspiration, Pinterest is a fantastic resource. Simply type in your favorite colours – whether broad terms like “blue” or more specific shades – and explore the palettes that catch your eye. Save the ones you love, because you’ll need their HEX codes when finalizing your brand identity.

Wondering what HEX codes are? Don’t worry – we’ll dive into that in the next blog post, along with tips on how to combine colours seamlessly.
